Attention AMD enthusiasts! 💻 Are you facing this problem? Let's figure out the best solution together. 🤔
Adrenalin Software keeps warning about missing driver and firmware updates, even though it says we’re up to date. I’ve tried a few fixes—running SFC scanner to fix corrupt files, rebooting after that, reinstalling the software, checking for Windows updates—but nothing seems to work. I also spoke with Lenovo support, who suggested using Vantage but didn’t resolve the issue. Right now, I’m unsure what’s wrong and want your advice from other AMD users. Please let me know how to proceed—I’m open to any suggestions! Thanks!
Avoid downloading drivers directly from AMD's site manually. A four-month-old GPU driver isn't likely to cause any major issues; it shouldn't be a significant worry.
From a technical standpoint, you can proceed, though the process actually sets up the Adrenalin software. It’s not clear if there’s an option to install drivers only, unlike Nvidia which makes it easier. This is regrettable in my opinion. Also, yes, it’s not a disaster, but I really want to use the newest version because she can’t manage this on her own, so...
There are no problems to fix. Just ensure you're not using the newest driver version.
You need to completely remove the software then restart the installation again to enable the driver-only option. I followed that process to eliminate excess bloat from the Radeon control panel. Check the programs list, uninstall it, then use Device Manager to remove any remaining drivers. Disconnect the Ethernet cable to stop automatic updates from Microsoft. Proceed with the setup file you downloaded from AMD. This should resolve the issue.
It’s worth noting that you don’t always require the newest drivers if you simply browse the web, watch videos, or work with spreadsheets. My mother mainly uses her computer for reading, email, news, and weather updates. My father does the same and also handles Excel files for work. I’m concerned about his reliance on Excel as a database, but he doesn’t use Facebook, which would otherwise overload the system.
Please avoid sending me emojis; I won’t respond if I see one.
It seems I wasn't informed about this feature during installation since it's more common on systems using Intel or Nvidia.
