Hey, you found an HP ProCurve switch and want to access its web interface. It seems modern browsers don’t support Java anymore. Have you considered using a virtual machine or a compatibility layer to run Java-based tools?

It’s a model switch. Firefox should allow Java apps to run, but you might need to add the switch’s IP to your security exceptions in the Java control panel. Alternatively, connect via telnet and use the command line. It should function as an unmanaged switch or handle Layer 3 tasks if required.

I attempted to use it and successfully installed Firefox on my laptop. Now I'm attempting the same on my PC.

Make sure your switch has an IP address assigned, which comes from DHCP. Then install Java and include the IP in the site list. That’s it!
