I was attempting to lower the clock speed of my FX-6300 instead of increasing it, since it was running at 4.1GHz with 1.404 volts. I managed to get it stable at 3.8GHz and 1.225 volts on Windows 8.1. Now that I'm using Windows 10, the same settings cause the screen to go black and require a hard reset. Anyone has any ideas?

Overclocking in BIOS, forget about clumsy programs, just use it for tracking.

Alright then. I accessed the BIOS and changed into overclocking mode. Note that I don’t have an "overclocking motherboard," but I’m not attempting overclocking ATM. My goal was just to stabilize the CPU a bit. I adjusted the CPU to 3.8GHz and the HT Link to 2200MHz (it was already there, so I assumed that was correct). I also turned off AMD’s TURBO Mode. The CPU temperatures are stable, all clocks match my settings, and it seems to stabilize at 1.225V. Job done, thanks again to CountMike.
