I purchased the new RTX 2080 Ti from Asus. When attempting to launch a game with RTX, the option became hidden. Reports suggest the issue stems from an outdated Windows version (1803) needing an update to 1809 or 1903. However, using Microsoft’s download file works smoothly, yet restarting restores the older version. I suspect a bug in version 1903 might be causing this problem, but the previous stable versions (1809 and earlier) aren’t available online. Search results often focus on misleading headlines about 1903. How can I ensure my Windows is updated to a reliable version that supports RTX on my graphics card?

Your bio is current. Have you explored the Windows Update Assistant? I faced some trouble updating my kids' PC. Windows update problems who would have imagined.

It seems there might be a BIOS-related problem. The built-in update tool isn't showing the 1809 update, though it claims you're on the latest. After installing the Windows update utility (Windows10Upgrade9252.exe), it upgraded to version 1903, but restarting causes a blue screen and then reverts to version 1803.

When restarting, the Asus powers on and displays a message asking to revert recent changes. It then restarts again and logs into Windows 10, though it remains stuck at version 1803 instead of the updated 1903.

This wasn't a BIOS problem; I've upgraded to the newest BIOS version, but it didn't resolve the issue. The update issues persist.

I've attempted all possible solutions and even tried a fresh install, but the restart process still stops after reaching 30%. The issue persists regardless of disabling auto-start features or cleaning the system. During the re-install, an error appeared right after returning to Windows: 0x800704B8 - 0x3001A, indicating a failure during the first boot phase with problems in the BEGIN_FIRST_BOOT operation. Many users reported similar issues without a clear fix. It would be helpful if someone could shed some light on what might be causing this since no one seems to have a solution online.

Yes, a fresh installation typically starts from a bootable USB drive. That’s exactly what I did. Do you mean accessing BIOS to erase the disk before proceeding?
