I'm ready to help you find a 9800X3D at a nearby store. Let me check availability right now.

I'm testing them at 7000m/t while keeping everything else on Auto now. So yeah, there it is. Since everyone here is skeptical about speed runs, I'll go with the G.Skill 8000m/t memory and stick to the latest 64GB Corsair DDR5 6400MHz RAM.

I'm not recommending purchasing one, but that's just the surface level. Comparing CPUs across generations based solely on clock speed isn't accurate and misses much of the picture. This isn't the only factor at play. We're aiming to guide you toward a reliable option. It looks like you made your choice without seeking advice from seasoned users—well, that's understandable, but it's worth learning from others. If you needed more memory, a strong 2x32GB setup with 6000CL30 and some tuning would have been ideal. For a 6400, if you have basic knowledge about memory tuning and how the Ryzen controller works, that could be the path forward. If you're using it out of the box, just enable XMP/EXPO and rely on the manufacturer's specifications, then adjust as you become more familiar.

We're sharing what we've learned from people who have experience with this topic. Some replies likely came from those who have tried it or regularly adjust these things. I didn't closely follow, but I haven't seen anyone achieve a stable 8000 on a 4x16 setup. That's probably why manufacturers might offer free samples. Feel free to keep the kits if you want to continue experimenting—it's your investment.

I’m not concerned about the performance aspects, especially since the X3D CPUs are generally unaffected by memory speed thanks to their large cache. The idea of RAM being the main issue seems unlikely unless you’re playing competitively at high resolutions or low settings.

It's great you're here. The challenge is real, but manageable. What's the latency? If it auto-runs, I'd expect around 40+ ms for stability, though it'll be a bit sluggish. I suggest a CL30 at 6000MHz with 2x32GB. Don't push beyond the controller since 6400MHz also works but can be 1-2% slower in tests than 6000MHz. This would give you the top performance from the 7800X3D. The X3D chips rely less on RAM speed thanks to their cache, which is a plus if you need to run at 6400. Just target CL30 latency—some Corsair setups lag compared to cheaper alternatives. A few Corsair kits are surprisingly fast for that price.

Show a snapshot from HWiNFO's Memory Timings. If out of sync, it’s almost certain at 7000 your performance will lag compared to 6000, especially with a tuned 6000/1:1 setup. This isn’t just about the peak frequency being highest.

Sorry the image shows them operating at 8000 with two modules, not four at 7000. Because when you focus on understanding instead of dismissing others, you might realize I'm asking for assistance. Your attitude comes off as condescending, and it seems like you're trying to belittle my effort. It's clear you're frustrated—this was a mistake, and I hope we can clarify it. You seem like a troll with many comments about being rude. Everything else on Auto.

Only those who are open to hearing can be helped. It seems like you're diving back into the game, but I'm still confused about what's going on.
