Attempting to set up Windows 10 on a 2600k processor.
Hello, I'm a bit delayed at the Windows 10 gathering. After some system upgrades—swapping the case, CPU cooler, more SSDs, and refreshing thermal paste—I decided to go with Windows 10 Pro. The setup went smoothly until the install asked for my phone number, which I skipped. Later, a white screen appeared with a services menu at the top right. After waiting an hour, the HDD LED started flashing but didn’t do anything. The system isn’t frozen; I can still navigate back to the phone number screen. I selected Windows 10 Pro during installation. My hardware specs: CPU i7 2600K, Asus P8Z77-V LX motherboard (latest BIOS), Gigabyte gaming Extreme 980Ti GPU, 20GB RAM (2x8GB + 2x2GB), 1333MHz G.Skill Ripjaw. Can someone assist me? Thanks ahead!
Did you set up an account using your email address? Avoid doing that. It hasn't ever requested a phone number (unless you're comfortable sharing it).
Connecting to the web, I’m checking the relevant page. You don’t have to share your email or phone number with Microsoft. Local accounts are still possible as before. Once Microsoft receives an email address, it will connect to your existing account. This will work alongside Skype, MSN Messenger, and Xbox Live SSO logins. If you previously managed one of those accounts and deleted or blocked it, there might be issues here, though I’m not certain. If the problem persists, open Task Manager (press Ctrl+Shift+Esc or type "taskmgr" in the search bar) to check for any stuck processes.
