Hello, I'm attempting to set up Linux on both my laptops—a Lenovo IdeaPad 100 and a Lenovo IdeaPad 2 in one. I'm having trouble figuring out the process. When trying to load a CD and mount it, the USB with the Linux distribution stops working, and my mouse also fails.

Let me clarify your request. Could you provide more details about which Lenovo product you're using? Also, specify the Linux distribution you're aiming for and how you plan to install it. Knowing this will help me give you a more accurate guide.

I’m attempting to set up Linux on a Lenovo device. One model runs Windows 10 Home 64-bit, while others use 32-bit. I’m trying to install Kali Linux on a bootable USB drive.

Yes, Kali can boot from a USB drive. When you attempt to start a laptop using a USB drive, it will load the operating system from that drive.

Kali needs minimal permissions across many systems, which makes installation challenging. Will you need to wait for the drive?

You can obtain the Kali Linux ISO file, insert a USB drive into your device, utilize software such as Rufus to copy the installer onto the USB. After completing this step, restart your Lenovo laptop with the USB connected, enter the required boot key at startup to adjust the boot sequence, choose the USB as the first boot option, and the installation will proceed.
