I checked some files on my PC from my phone and found a folder named sdcard backup. I assumed it was unnecessary since it had more space, but it actually contained photos. I’m wondering if anyone knows how to recover those pictures for free. The ones I have aren’t critical, but I’d rather not lose them. I own a Galaxy S21.

You might still have waste in your trash if you haven't cleared it out.

Since I removed the file from my PC, it didn't appear in the trash on my phone, and because it was stored on an external device, it wasn't deleted from my computer either.

It's tough with premiums because data usually disappears completely. While some hard drives might hold remnants, the gates don’t preserve them well. I thought the outdated Windows system could help, but it’s likely they vanished entirely. Could there be a cloud backup left intact? Any backups that still contain it? You could lose everything. The information might actually be missing. If it's there it's usually fixable, though it may not be. Without automatic backups like on iPhones, you're on your own.
