It's nice to have a companion, but remember to treat others kindly. They might have powerful systems they haven't encountered the full complexity of Windows.

Step into a realm where all interactions are scripted and characters follow predefined roles.

You seem unfamiliar with Windows, don't you? It might have been common back then, but times have changed. Unless you're using older models like Intel Celeron or Atom, your setup probably isn't working well. Many online guides about installing Windows are misleading, more like snake oil than real help. I'd prefer a clean install and nothing more.

Stock Windows 11 isn’t performing well on my i5 8350U. The start menu feels very demanding. It’s hard to see it launch smoothly at around 60 frames per second without background processes running. The file explorer also uses more resources than usual. Even adjusting screen brightness drains a significant portion of my CPU and memory. I’m not interested in running Android emulators or virtual machines until I upgrade to a lighter version. I succeeded in creating a stripped-down install, which made everything much faster. Still, there are some issues that keep me from switching yet. Testing is crucial. I’ll invest time to improve speed. Honestly, if you were in my situation with limited hardware, what would you do? Just endure long waits and only browse light web pages or edit VS Code. If you’re being too strong, give me a concrete example. Many Windows builds I’ve seen are solid, even though I’m familiar with them. There are also unofficial versions like Windows 11 Lite and Atlas OS that use fewer resources. I was considering one but wasn’t convinced enough. Because your machine is powerful, it’s perfectly fine for you. But there are millions of users with underpowered setups who struggle to optimize. My sister, who doesn’t use much, was thrilled when I reduced her system’s memory usage by 1-2 gigabytes.

I've been promoting snake oil since 2016, right? It's actually quite straightforward. You can easily set up the Tiny11 and Tiny10 versions of Windows. As I mentioned earlier, it's just snake oil with no real substance. Edited June 16, 2024 by wasab Correcting autocorrect
