I've been attempting to remove certain games from an external hard drive, but when I try to place them in the recycle bin, it only indicates it's finding items and nothing occurs. My Steam games aren't appearing in the recycle bin either, even though I can move other files without issues. Is there something I'm overlooking?

Avoid deleting programs by merely relocating their files to the Recycle Bin; instead, remove them from the Programs list in Windows or via the application manager such as Steam.

Do the games from the external HDD appear in Steam? It's better to remove them through Steam rather than deleting files manually.

Each Steam game requires an appmanifest file from Steam to recognize it as installed. To prevent Steam from treating the game as installed, you need to remove this file. However, the issue arises because the appmanifest uses the game's Steam Store ID rather than its name, so you must visit the game's store page and check the URL for the ID number to identify which appmanifest should be deleted.
