These occur while enjoying rocket league, it quickly increases to over 200 ping and then drops back down to around 50.

Are there any processes running quietly? Checking for Steam downloads or potential activity. Other users on your network performing heavy network work might also drain your connection if they’re using up bandwidth.

I'm not totally confident about mentioning this, but the lag looks like packet loss. In Rocket League it usually shows up as most connections dropping. I ran a 'ping' command with 25 hops on my IP and checked sites like google.com; one packet was lost. Not sure what that means or if it's the main issue, but I think I should have mentioned it sooner.

Explored it again despite initial confusion, as I consistently enjoy diving into older command-line operating systems. DOS stands out as one of the most significant and widely used.
