Attempting to launch FIFA 14 on Pop!_OS
Hello there! I'm just starting out with Linux and have been using Pop!_OS for about a week now. My laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad T510 with 8GB RAM, a 298GB HDD, a 2.4 GHz CORE i5 processor, an integrated Intel graphics card, and the BIOS dates go back to 2011. I moved away from Windows because it would often crash every couple of months, usually due to driver issues that caused the Blue Screen of Death. Now I enjoy gaming, especially football matches. My machine handled FIFA 14 quite well, but with Linux I haven't been able to play them yet. I attempted to install FIFA 14 and FIFA 09 using Wine, but both failed. FIFA 14 showed up on the desktop but couldn't be launched, while FIFA 09 got stuck during setup and displayed a non-responsive message. I tried installing FIFA 09 with PlayOnLinux and even with PlayOnLinux's Wine-Mono, it still didn't work. In the debug section, I encountered two errors: one about restricted read access for a device and another about Wine mono not being installed properly. Some online sources suggested using dotnet45 via wine-tricks, but that didn't help either. I'm also using cracked versions of software, which adds to the confusion. What should I do?
