Attempting to improve CPU performance!
I need to improve my dad's computer by getting him a Ryzen 3 4100. His motherboard is an ASRock A320M HDV R4, and the CPU is an A8 9600. The issue is that after updating to BIOS version 7.10, the old CPU stops working and the new one only works with that BIOS. Also, the older motherboard doesn't support flashing the BIOS back. Can you help?
You're unsure about what's happening. It seems like you kept the old CPU in while updating the BIOS, then shut it down and replaced the old A8 with a new Ryzen 3. Are you concerned that once the new BIOS is applied, the board might stop working? It should work fine if done correctly.
