It seems there might be a misunderstanding about how the process functions. The issue could stem from incorrect file handling or settings, which is why it’s stuck. Switching to Windows 11 was intended to improve performance, but if you’re still experiencing problems, double-check your configuration and ensure all dependencies are met.

It stalls when trying to access discovered files for about five minutes before continuing. I often need to back up my SSD to an HDD that’s around 750 GB, but it never stops—just slows down.

This seems completely illogical. There must be an issue with the operating system. It’s strange that it’s the only one like this, and I’m frustrated waiting 30 minutes to clear 100MB of data.

The number of files is important. Deleting a few hundred thousand would likely take a long time.

It’s 445 entries and Windows 10 would launch right away. The same applies to any other OS version. In reality, Windows 11 simply doesn’t handle it that way. It just remains in the found X number of files forever. Nothing changes.

I’m the only one left who’d stand by Windows 11, though it’s panned it might be stuck due to a bad sector. Try removing files gradually to track exactly what happens.

Disk verification only examines the filesystem. Prolonged inactivity might signal problems with the storage device.
