Looking at the options, I'm trying to decide between the two setups. I need to weigh my current needs versus future upgrades. The first setup includes a gaming PC with an i5-8600K and a BenQ monitor, while the second has a more powerful ASUS board and a 4K ultra-wide monitor. I'm unsure if I should go for a higher clock speed or invest in a better motherboard that supports Ryzen 4.

It's similar to this: Gaming - Intel processor - AMD processor (you won't notice any advantage in Excel). I wouldn't choose the 9th generation Intel CPUs since there are 10th generation Core i5s offering strong performance with less heat. I have limited insight on Ryzen 4000 chips. What will happen later?

You already have both setups. The board performs well and handles a 12nm 8-core processor smoothly. Go with Zen 3. Avoid the Coffee Lake option; choose either Zen 3 or Comet Lake.
