Attempting to configure BIOS settings on a PC
I purchased a new PC this year and wasn’t very familiar with BIOS settings. After installation, everything seemed fine at first, but after replacing a CPU fan it worked well for a while. Then one of my graphics cards failed, so I removed it and kept only one fan running for a couple months. My system started crashing during games, so I reset the BIOS to default to see if performance could improve. This has helped a bit, but it’s affecting speed and stability. I have an i5-12600K processor, a Radeon RX 6950X GPU, a Corsair 4000D airflow case, and a 800-850W power supply with a white Corsair case. My motherboard is an MSI Z690 Pro A. I’m trying to figure out how to properly configure the BIOS again—any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help; sorry for the confusing writing.
Only activate the XMP profile for your memory to ensure it operates at advertised speeds. This is typically indicated on the first page of the CPU/Overclocking section of most BIOS interfaces. You can also adjust other options such as disabling CSM and enabling Secure Boot, which appear on the Boot tab of the BIOS. That’s about it.
