Recent update. Tested GPU on another setup works fine; PSU functions well in different systems. Swapped 5900X for 5700G in the motherboard slot—power button operates but shuts itself off immediately instead of ignoring it. Reinstalled 5700G and verified all pins are intact, soaked the socket with alcohol. Tried 5900X in another system but it failed. This is concerning since a working 5700G should support a functional 5900X. I’m really worried about both units now.

It's possible you pushed the CPU beyond its limits, causing it to stop working and the motherboard to fail. Your actions might have damaged both components. Consider checking for signs of overheating or physical damage.

can't really turn it over too much, the screws need to stop before reaching that point... but they shouldn't be overly tight. Loosen them slightly and give another try.

That's why I've been operating it without a cooler, just using the IHS to check for posting, and then turning it off before it gets too hot.
