Attempted updating graphics cards, but the system is now unable to start.
I attempted to upgrade my GPU from GTX 1060 to Radeon 6600 recently, but my computer won’t start. It powers on but I can’t access the BIOS or see anything on the screen. I checked all connections and even reset the battery in case it was causing issues. I also tried using my older GPU, which still doesn’t boot. My power supply is rated at 800W, which should be sufficient for the new GPU. What might be the reason?
I don't have the full details of your specs. Could you clarify what you're referring to?
1. I switched my GPUs.
2. Powered on the PC.
3. Restarted three times.
4. On the fourth attempt, nothing appeared on the screen.
5. Waited ten minutes, still no display.
6. Tried again to reset.
7. Used my older GPU and repeated steps.
8. Removed the battery and waited five minutes.
9. Reinserted the battery and tried once more…
10. Same outcome once more…
Confirming your setup: are the graphics cards utilizing their video ports?
You're asking if it should exclude the internal graphics card.
Yes, remove the graphics card, connect the monitor via HDMI on the motherboard, and power on the PC. Check if you can display an image on the screen. This helps determine if the issue is with the PCIE port or another component. If both graphics cards behave similarly, it might suggest a damage to the PCIe port. Also, observe whether any boot LEDs remain stuck when turning on the PC—CPU, GPU, or RAM LEDs?
1. I have tried this, what happens is the computer reboots after a few seconds and then i get an indefinitely dark screen. No bios, no colors, nothing. 2. I believe that the motherboard could have gotten damaged but I don’t see how that could be possible. I was quite delicate about the process. No matter which gpu I use, the same issue happens. My cpu has integrated graphics and couldn’t boot it up either. 3. I was looking for these parameters on my mother board and I couldn’t find it. Perhaps mine doesn’t have it.
