I attempted to overclock my GTX 860M and raised the memory clock to a high setting (up to 4k), but nothing changed. The software stopped working (NVIDIA Inspector). When Minecraft was running in the background, it also stopped responding, so I closed both programs and reopened NVIDIA Inspector. Everything froze, causing panic. Eventually, I turned it off by pressing the power button. A loud pop sounded, and I thought my GPU was damaged. Fortunately, the laptop started normally, albeit a bit slowly at first, which made sense since I had force-closed it. I’m worried about any damage and am hesitant to turn it on again. Could anyone clarify what happened and whether I’m safe? Thanks!

What laptop are you using? Trying to overclock its GPU could lead to poor cooling performance.

Does it include an iGPU, possibly utilizing it? It seems like you're checking for VRAM usage.

I clicked the right-click button on my desktop, and my NVIDIA panel remains visible. I'm not sure what the term "igpu" refers to, but I think it's related to integrated graphics, which I understand is correct (switchable graphics).

I right-clicked my desktop, my NVIDIA panel remains visible, thankfully. I'm not sure what the igpu stands for, but I think it refers to integrated GPU, which I do (switchable graphics). Try running graphics-intensive games.

It seems like the desktop shortcut is still active, and I’m not sure what the igpu setting means—I assume it’s related to integrated graphics. I’m testing with demanding games to see if performance stays consistent.
For temperature checks while playing Minecraft, I’ve shared a link.
Everything looks okay so far, but just in case, could there be any software that might help improve things?
