Hi, I bought 32 GB of 3200 MHz RAM for an upgrade from my 16 GB 2133 MHz unit. I did it mainly to boost FPS in games, but it seems performance dropped and the older RAM was actually faster. Is there something missing or an issue I should check? Thanks for your help!

They are using dual channel. Have you enabled DOCP or XMP?

Checking dual channel, unsure about docp/xmp—search it now.

XMP/DOCP is the method for adjusting the speed settings in the BIOS. Without this configuration, your system won't operate at the intended 3200 MHz. Considering the cost of a 32 GB 3200 processor (around $120-150), you won't notice significant FPS improvements. However, with a Ryzen chip, there might be some benefit. Intel's impact is minimal at best.

Turned on XMP and is running at 3200mhz. Appreciate the assistance. I was a bit let down seeing a video about a 50fps boost gain, but I haven’t noticed it myself. Sorry for the confusion; thanks again.

50 frames per second, honestly that’s quite low. lol. It’s only a small improvement at most. Hope it’s functional!
