I recently acquired a Zenith ii extreme and an AMD 3970x Thread ripper. Along with these, I also purchased a new case. Initially, I tested the setup outside the case to verify functionality. After connecting the power supply and turning it on, the board illuminated briefly before cutting out completely. I hadn’t pressed the power button and ensured no pin damage. I attempted to activate it, but it responded only briefly before becoming unresponsive. Now the board shows no lights at all. I checked the power supply using a paperclip test and confirmed the fan was running. A volt meter showed all readings matched specifications. I’m unsure what to do next. The seller is replacing the board, but I need guidance on possible causes and prevention for the new unit. Additionally, could a short circuit have affected the CPU during that time? Any advice or clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Other actions you might consider: try a different power supply, jumping pins offers little help. Reset the CMOS using a flash update. Observe the Q-codes and note any relay codes appearing.
