I recently bought a used ASUS Z87-DELUXE/DUAL from eBay to swap in for a failed Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H board. It uses a socket 1150 and doesn’t show any video output via the built-in graphics or a working HDMI cable. The display shows error codes 00 and 55. I’ve tried several fixes: swapping CPUs (i5-4670k, i7-4790k), adding RAM (G.SKILL Ares 16GB DDR3 2400), installing a new stick RAM in both primary and secondary slots, adding a G.SKILL Trident X 8GB DDR3 stick in DIMM_B1 and DIMM_B2, swapping PSUs (XFX PRO750W), CoolMax CU-600B, and the graphics card. I also changed the CMOS battery, reset it, and retrained the RAM using the MemOK! button. I limited CPU and power usage, updated the BIOS via ASUS instructions, but the CMOS light didn’t turn off. Error 55 seems to mean “memory not installed,” while 00 points to a corrupted BIOS. I’m unsure if these steps resolved the issue. I’ve looked it up online and confirmed the codes, but I’m worried about returning the board. Updated this note on November 6, 2022.
