Hello, I just purchased an i7 4790 (non K) CPU for my motherboard. Before buying it, I thought updating the BIOS was necessary. Unfortunately, when I installed the new CPU today, it didn’t work as expected—I got a red LED and the board wouldn’t power on. Could someone help me resolve this issue?

It worked as expected and I also confirmed all configurations were set to their default values prior to installing the new CPU.

The system reverts to its previous state, restoring any changes made during the swap.

Indicates a faulty CPU. Another method involves inserting the CPU into a verified functional motherboard that matches its socket and trying to start up—failure confirms the CPU is defective.

The issue is that I don’t have another board, this is the only one I own.

Unless someone is open to letting you try the CPU on their board, it seems the new CPU isn't working properly.
