Asus Z390-A Prime AVX Offset Clock modules
Asus Z390-A Prime AVX Offset Clock modules
I just upgraded the BIOS on my Z390-A Prime 9700k to the newest version (v. 1502). Previously, I was using an older BIOS from early 2019, but now I’m facing some strange issues. Back then, with Prime 95 v26.6 and a manual voltage OC (4.8GHz @ 1.28V, level 6 load line calibration with AVX offset), all cores worked fine at 4.8GHz. Now, with the updated BIOS and the same settings, Prime 95 v26.6 only runs at 4.6GHz on AVX clocks. The same happens with Cinebench R15. In other applications it jumps to full 4.8GHz but then drops to 4.6 often, especially during games. No background processes are running. Could something have changed in the BIOS that affects performance?
