I received this motherboard for free because it wouldn’t power on, and I decided to attempt a repair myself after reviewing the “no post thread” and basic troubleshooting steps. The person who sent me the board told me it was functioning properly until they used compressed air, which then caused it to stop working. After finding a compatible CPU, I confirmed the problem and it indeed won’t boot. What could possibly go wrong? The RGB lights illuminate right away when the power supply is activated, along with the onboard power switch indicator. None of the diagnostic LEDs for booting appear. Neither does the power switch nor the case switch, nor shorting the power pins, turn off the RGB. There are no fans connected anywhere on the board that spin. My only suspicion is there’s a short in the power switch circuits—how could the lights activate while the computer is off? They receive power instantly through the PSU. Combined with the non-responsive power buttons, this has led me to that conclusion. I’m uncertain what to do next. All other discussions about this motherboard and this issue have ended without success. This marks my first attempt at diagnosing and fixing a motherboard. Cheers! IMG_0177.mov

Remove heatsinks, CMOS battery, short clr, and power button. Soak in water for an hour or two; dishwasher works too without detergent. Let dry overnight. This thorough cleaning should resolve the issue if the air compressor caused damage.
