Hey
I was wondering if it's possible to overclock the non K I3 7100 on the Asus Z270-P motherboard. If so, can we push it above 4 GHz? Right now the boost clock is around 3.9 GHz. I think the system should handle it, especially with my 212X chipset. I was thinking a BIOS update might help make it overclockable. Thanks for your help!

If you want to overclock an i3 in the Kabylake range of processors, the only candidate is the
i3-7350K
. Anything without a K on it would be pointless to overclock.
On another note, overclocking is achieved with other parts supporting each other. A robust PSU with ample wattage, a case with good airflow as well as heatsinks on your motherboard's VRM area to cool the power delivery all play a part in getting consistent and long term results. Can you please list your full system's specs? List them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
