Asus X99 Deluxe Q-Code 53
Asus X99 Deluxe Q-Code 53
Hello everyone, I've finally managed to buy the RAM I needed—Corsair Dominator DDR4—for my Asus X99 motherboard with an i7-5930k CPU. I've got the only DDR4 sticks installed and connected to a Corsair RM750X, everything seems to power up and the RAM lights up. The PC boots up but the system doesn't show anything, even with multiple GPUs, and it keeps showing Q-Code Error 53. I've checked the documentation and it seems related to memory, but I've tried every DIMM slot and even removed the RAM completely without success. I've reset the CMOS, pressed MemOK, swapped out the battery, re-seated the CPU, and double-checked all connectors in the PSU and motherboard headers. The error persists. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I might have to deliver some disappointing news—your x99 board could be dead. Regardless of what I did (x99 MSI Gaming ACK 7), it kept throwing error messages after a failed restart. It’s clear older hardware often struggles with long-term use. If you have any chances, consider swapping in a different RAM module, such as an 8 GB unit, or ask a friend if they have spare parts. Try launching with that new RAM and make sure you wipe the CMOS before each change. Keep all storage devices disconnected, except the GPU, and focus on trying BIOS boot mode. Each time it fails with either kit, reset the CMOS and test another slot. If it keeps failing across both RAM options, it’s likely a faulty board—best to take it to a technician for a thorough diagnosis.
As a final resort, remove the CMOS battery, reset the CMOS for two minutes, and keep the power button pressed for two minutes while the board is disconnected from all sources. This will completely drain the board, enabling you to simply submerge it in water (without soap or detergent) to remove any dust that might be the cause. Allow it to dry for 2 to 4 days based on temperature conditions. If it doesn’t recover, then it’s over.
