Asus X570 Strix-E model with Q-code 02 and VGA boot light feature
I've discovered several discussions about this topic online, though consistent fixes aren't appearing. My machine is showing erratic boot behavior on the Asus X570 Strix-E with my 2080 Ti. There was a period when everything worked smoothly, but after replacing the waterblock, I encountered no display when launching the system with Q-Code 02. The White VGA and Green Boot Light are still active on the motherboard. I've experimented with different cables, switched PCI-E slots, powered off and unplugged the PSU, and even updated the BIOS. Still can't get it to recognize the card. I'm trying to believe the hardware is fine, though I had to swap PCI-E connections and test various cables, possibly just by chance. Any suggestions on further steps? It seems like this issue isn't rare, but it's really frustrating and hard to resolve.
Also try reinstalling the PCI-e power cords on both sides if your power supply has a modular design, and let me know about the PSU details.
I remember mostly updating the BIOS. There was a message about turning on or off CSM because the GPU wasn't responding, but I can't see the POST screen or check the BIOS settings. The card had been fine before, only this problem appeared after moving hardware onto the new board. It kept working through several reboots on the old board, but now it seems to be having trouble with something.
I suspect the card might be the issue. After reassembling my old motherboard, I still didn’t get a signal, and there was a water flow problem that likely caused an airlock. The GPU overheated several times, losing signal each time, but it would work again once it cooled. It seems the last overheating event might have been the turning point. I probably need to buy a cheaper GPU to check what’s going on. Not getting video output from either board suggests the card is likely faulty.
