It seems like a driver problem might be involved. I've included the DMP file. Searching online points to possible RAM or GPU issues, though I've already tested other hardware and everything works now on this machine using the 2600 instead of the 5900x. It doesn't seem hardware-related. My understanding is a bit uncertain beyond that, but drivers shouldn't behave differently across CPUs. That’s unlikely, though it’s hard to explain clearly. The system is currently operational using all original hardware except the motherboard. After reviewing the VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR, I ran sfc /scannow which detected and fixed some corrupt files. Then I executed chkdsk /f /r /x and restarted the machine to perform a disk check. Once completed, I reinstalled the 5900x and booted up successfully. It seems the main problem was with the ASUS motherboard, which may need replacement or repair—disappointing it failed after just nine months. The situation feels promising to me. GJ Disk issues weren’t what I anticipated. Pre-boot access wasn’t expected, but post-boot it works. Two error messages are much more challenging. Even if the problem stems from a HDD, I’d be concerned about the drive’s health moving forward. HDDs tend to worsen quickly once they develop faults. The data on that drive should be backed up regularly. (My friend often said the lesson in every story is “always make backups”) Edited January 20, 2022 by Bombastinator
I'm not completely sure the disk scan fixed anything. Maybe a file checker scan would have worked better. I just ran the disk scan to ensure everything was covered. Either way, I've backed up all the drives locally, so even if something happens it shouldn't be a big deal.
