I intend to combine these components, but USB naming is quite confusing. The case includes cables for front USB: 1 x USB 3.1 Type-C, 1 x USB 3.0 Type-A. Can I connect these ports to the motherboard headers? The board lists connectors such as USB 3.2 Gen 2 front panel, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and USB 2.0. The manual notes using separate modules for USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0, which adds to my confusion. Any guidance would be welcome! Corsair Case Manual ASUS Motherboard Manual
You can definitely use them. The big USB header for Type-C and the smaller one for 3.0 work fine. The main challenge will be that the front USB-A port is limited to 3.0, though I think it’s not a major concern. I’m not entirely sure if this matches exactly, but once you get your PC, you’ll see the connectors and can verify if everything fits properly. Just make sure the motherboard includes two USB 3 headers. Edited December 31, 2020 by GorujoCY There’s one small USB 3 header only.
The question asks about identifying the 'big' and 'small' headers, but no specific list or context was provided. Please clarify the headers you're referring to so I can assist further.
the main header is the 3.2 gen 2 one present on all current motherboards, while the smaller one is for usb 3. Consider using a usb 2 adapter if you have a type-c or type-a port to maintain performance, though it may affect bandwidth. Check your motherboard and case carefully before purchasing an adapter.
