You're unsure about the process. After installing the new BIOS and using the rename tool, you connected the USB to the FLBK port and waited for it to start flashing. Once it began, the light increased in speed before stopping. Your motherboard is an Asus Tuf Gaming Plus II with a microATX design and AMD Ryzen 5 3600. When you released the button, the light changed to solid green and remained steady. However, in the videos you've seen, no one explained what a solid green light signifies. Could you clarify what the light means in your situation?

I believed the green signal indicated it was working and turns off after completion. Do you have the USB drive formatted properly? If you manage to access the BIOS, just apply the BIOS flash utility to refresh it.

I'm having trouble accessing the BIOS, and the motherboard isn't detecting the processor. Updating the BIOS might be necessary.

In the early days of what we now call a three-color traffic signal, the concept that green meant proceed and red meant halt was first introduced. As technology progressed, this idea evolved into the modern green go and red stop system we use today. Of course, most understand that red simply signals you didn’t go fast enough. This statement was entirely fabricated while I was busy cleaning up dust on the hard drive during a system update. I suspect removing the partition would have been faster than running the FORMAT command. Again, please forgive my rambling. It’s been a long day, and it seems my new CPU, motherboard, and RAM will have to wait until tomorrow for FedEx delivery.

The board should install the 3600 without requiring a BIOS update. Only the new 5000 series models needed updates.

the BIOS FlashBack LED becomes solid after starting the process suggests a problem. This could mean the BIOS file is corrupted or the flash drive formatting isn't correct. Try reformatting the USB using FAT16 or FAT32, then use a rename tool to place it in the root directory. Use this port for the operation.

Absolutely, this feels off. I've tested multiple BIOS versions and kept getting the same issue. The RGB on the stealth cooler stopped working, but the fans still function. It's really frustrating. I'm expecting a replacement tomorrow. This is what happens when you go for cheaper options like AMD.

Check the port I believed was correct—it made sense. It wasn’t the BIOS flash port. I repeatedly tested it without success. After some research, I realized the BIOS port is actually marked as number 10 in your picture.

I think you've had some bad luck so far. I've been using Intel for a while now, swapping my 7700k for a 5600x and an Asus B550i motherboard. My son's PC is similar, with a 3600 and an Asus TUF B450m Pro that worked fine. On my Strix B550i, I had to use the BIOS flashback to get the 5600x.

It looks like you spotted an image with the I/O shield and think it belongs to that category.
