The motherboard needs a BIOS upgrade to function with the 14th generation Intel processors. Check if you can obtain the BIOS update via a USB drive, as you don’t have a 12th or 13th generation CPU available. Let me know if you need further guidance.

Usually the system will start working properly even without accessing the BIOS with the official 14th generation support. At least according to several people I've spoken with. Just open the BIOS and refresh it there. This chip doesn’t include Flashback, which means that’s your only choice.

I haven't bought a chip that's newer than the board I'm getting it on. Just hoping it works. I'm upgrading my work PC, which currently has an 8th generation processor. Fractal Design North got here yesterday!

All components are in hand, and I should have a chance to put everything together today. I’ll share an update once it’s done or if further adjustments are needed.

The system starts up correctly in BIOS without any additional requirements. A BIOS update might be beneficial once everything is confirmed.

Great job on your project! It's impressive you can create your own machine every few years.

I updated the bios, it took about a minute, then I assembled the computer and the VGA light came on but I couldn't see anything on the screen.

You might want to reset the CMOS and attempt a boot again. The BIOS hasn’t been updated yet, and you haven’t spent much time working on it since installation. Now you’re installing essential programs before moving data onto it.
