I worked with an Intel i7 4790k for over a decade before finally upgrading. My setup included an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X cooler, Hyper 212 air cooler, ASUS TUF motherboard, and several RAM modules. After switching to the new system running Windows 11, I noticed the RAM speed listed as 4800MT instead of the expected 6000MT. I tried updating the BIOS to version 3222 but it didn’t fix the issue. Reading online advice suggested enabling EXPO for higher speeds, yet whenever I activated it, the system would fail to boot. I even reset the CMOS manually to get a default speed, but still faced problems. My PSU is 850W and my GPU is an RTX 3060Ti. What might be causing this discrepancy?

Have you considered refreshing the BIOS on your motherboard? Recent updates often enhance RAM compatibility and system stability.

OP handled it. If you can't rely on auto settings, try adjusting manually. Raise the DRAM Voltage slightly—around .1 to .15V higher than the box suggests—and test booting. Make sure it passes the stress test smoothly. For better reliability, consider using tools like HCI Memtest or OCCT RAM check instead of Memtest86, which mainly catches basic errors. If it works, you might recover value, though success isn't guaranteed.

The scenario involves qLED after expo being activated.

You can confirm your latest BIOS version is 3222. After enabling expo and waiting 10-15 minutes, the DRM QLED display changed from orange to green, though the screen didn’t appear until you reset the CMOS. For the settings, you may want to use the default values unless you have a specific configuration in mind. Memory context restore didn’t help, so try resetting the CMOS next time.

Your EXPO voltage is currently 1.40. Switch to Manual DRAM Voltage and choose either 1.45 or 1.5V. Set your RAM speed to DDR5-6000 and adjust the timing manually. For timing values, use 30 for CAS Latency (tCL), 40 for RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD and tRP), matching those on both tRCDRD and tRCDWR. Input 96 for RAS ACT Time (tRAS). Test to see if it boots successfully.

Discussing the adjustment of DRAM voltage to manual settings, specifically choosing between 1.45V or 1.5V, is essential for precision in your configuration.

Tested at 5200mhz, everything worked smoothly after auto start. Then switched to 5000mhz with auto settings—system started fine. Attached a screenshot for reference during troubleshooting.
