Asus Rog Strix x670 green boot light is a recent addition to my setup. I’m still experiencing this green indicator. On the display, the ROG logo appears and the prompt says “Press Del to enter BIOS,” but pressing it doesn’t do anything. I’ve tried several fixes: reinstalling the GPU, cleaning the CPU, rearranging M.2 drives, checking RAM connections, reseating components one at a time, securing all cables, resetting CMOS, and even removing the CMOS for 30 seconds. Nothing seems to resolve the issue. I invested around $3600 in this build and it’s frustrating. Here are the details: case, CPU, cooler, motherboard, GPU, RAM, and storage specs as listed.

The issue is clearly unresolved—posting about reseat CPUs and verifying the 8-pin connection isn't happening at all.

Press and hold DEL until entering Bios is active; avoid releasing it afterward. For post tests, perform them outside the case using a rubber mat, PSU, MB, CPU, cooler, GPU (if necessary), RAM, monitor, and cables. No other steps required. Let me know your results from outside the case.

On ASUS devices, seeing zero on CPU usually indicates it wasn't detected or installed properly. Re-seat the CPU and verify all eight pins are securely connected. Also inspect for any bent pins in the AM5 socket and consider removing the RAM stick from the A2 slot if needed.

I’m having trouble accessing the BIOS settings. It stays on the ROG splash screen and doesn’t respond to delete or F2 commands. I also tried updating the BIOS, but that didn’t help. Additionally, I’m receiving a 00 Q-code, which usually indicates multiple issues.

I’ve checked everything and the issue persists. The CPU appears to be functioning normally. No bent pins detected, thermal paste seems adequate, and the 8-pin connections are correctly placed on both sides. During testing, the CPU would occasionally power on and off, which might indicate it’s operating properly despite the intermittent behavior.

Set up your Windows USB installer properly. It's having trouble locating a boot device.

I also attempted it and didn’t get anything, but I’ll give it another shot tomorrow morning. Right now I’m really exhausted.

Thermal paste doesn't do anything with it not posting necessarily. If everything looks normal. Check the back of the MB to make sure you haven't managed to scratch anything. Or the CPU or mobo is potentially dead
