ASUS ROG STRIX GTX1060 6G Gaming Overclocking
You've just purchased an ASUS ROG STRIX GTX1060 6G gaming graphics card. You're curious about the best approach for overclocking it to enhance performance.
I just acquired an ASUS ROG STRIX GTX1060 6G GAMING and am curious about the best way to overclock it.

Hello, I own the same card, both the non-OC and OC versions, and I’ve used a video to push my card overclocked as well.
I’m wondering what results you achieved?
I was surprised by the default speeds—they were almost identical to those of reference cards.
It seems the overclocking is only available with the OC model. I enabled OC mode in GPU Tweak 2, but it still didn’t reach the full potential.
I followed a tutorial and manually adjusted the settings. The confusion came from others claiming they reached around 9.2GHz on memory clocks, but mine shows 4000mhz—clearly around 8GHz.
Currently, I’m boosting by +150 MHz, bringing it to about 2000mhz, and adding +500 on memory, which is close to the 9GHz range others report.
However, I feel this might be excessive. The card runs smoothly at a cool mid-50s temperature, but it keeps hitting power limits and draws consistently between 100% and 105%. I haven’t increased the voltage too much because I’m worried about damage.
Is this acceptable? What performance did you achieve with yours?
Please back up the BIOS of this card using GPU-Z and send it over. Kindly email [email protected].
