ASUS ROG STRIX G15 G513R experiences slow frame rates in low-demand titles.
Hello! The setup includes an ASUS ROG STRIX G15 G513R R9-6900HX with 64GB RAM, 1TB storage, and RTX 3070 Ti. The issue is maintaining consistent performance for low-demand titles like League of Legends at a steady frame rate (around 180–200 FPS). It fluctuates to 110–140 FPS instead. No overheating or thermal throttling is observed. All settings are optimized for maximum performance, including the Nvidia Control Panel. I’ve removed ASUS software, reinstalled League of Legends, and even reset via USB, but the problem persists. The NVIDIA app remains uninstalled. What might be behind this? This hasn’t happened before. P.S.: No issues with more intense games.
It's difficult to pinpoint the exact issue. The game might start with limited details before loading more as it progresses. It could also stem from increased memory usage, filling up the VRAM (your GPU has 8GB dedicated). Sometimes, unoptimized drivers are involved. Are other applications running in the background? They might be consuming resources and lowering your frame rate. If other games are functioning normally, it's likely not necessary to make changes. Let me know if this helps.
In short, the game isn’t putting too much strain on your GPU. When it runs smoothly, CPU usage stays around 15–20%, and GPU usage is 10–20%. Opening Task Manager shows CPU usage jumps to 30–40% during gameplay.
