Asus Rog B650-E 0D without any posts at EXPO, issues arise without EXPO
Hey there! I hope everything’s okay. I’m reaching out because my mind is getting really tired. In November 2022 I purchased a new PC with these specs:
• Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-E WIFI
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
• CPU cooler: Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
• GPU: XFX MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900XT
• RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE CL36 2x16GB (5600Mhz)
• SSD: SAMSUNG 870 QVO 1TB
• SSD: Kingston 480 GB
• PSU: Be Quite! Dark Power 12 1000W
• Case: Be Quiet! Silent Base 802
• Case fans: Be Quiet! Silent Wings Pro 4 140MM PWM x 6
It’s been functioning well for three months. I’ve noticed some issues only after updating drivers or reinstalling the OS. A DDU and driver fix helped temporarily, but now I’m stuck with a blank screen when using 0D code at night. I’ve tried CMOS, BIOS setup, memory training, and even ran tests on A2 and B2 RAM sticks. After enabling DOCP in BIOS it wouldn’t boot. My IT guy recommended running Memtest, which confirmed problems.
I ran some tests and found that after a while the system would crash during memory allocation—especially when B2 was involved. I thought about upgrading RAM, but DOCP made it unstable. After a few days of troubleshooting, I contacted Asus support. They said my RAM wasn’t on their list and suggested replacing it. But since I had to wait 38 days before returning it, they eventually sent it back with the note “It’s fixed now.”
On the way home, I discovered my RAM was now listed as supported. A new BIOS update was released, but nothing changed. It still didn’t boot properly. Now I’m wondering what might be causing this—no similar cases popped up online.
I’m not an expert, but it seems like the issue could be related to something beyond the CPU or motherboard. The fans are working fine, contacts look good, and even after a full RAM test, problems persisted. If you have any insights or suggestions, I’d really appreciate your help!
