Today the CPU arrived but I have been quite busy and not able to try it until a couple of minutes ago. It booted perfectly but now the drivers are giving me a lot of problems. I'll keep fighting and despite I think everything it is still fine, I am still worried that by using a dead cpu it broke something on my board.

And the matching socket is the same. It's LGA 1151 for 8th and 9th generation, but a 7th/6th generation motherboard won't fit, even though it supports LGA 1151. Please specify the CPU maker since they handle this consistently.

I’d prefer a fresh Mobo upgrade instead, as I’m not willing to spend $300 on a 7700k that isn’t overclocked.
