Asus rampage V X99 extreme motherboard lacks functioning USB ports
Hello today while I was playing a game, my computer crashed and displayed a blue screen after that. I unplugged everything and reconnected it all, then restarted the PC. Everything functioned perfectly except for the USB ports—none are working, though I can use the computer normally. I spoke to the person who sold me the PC and they suggested updating the drivers, but I can’t because my keyboard and mouse aren’t responding. They also recommended buying a USB PCIe card, but I’m unsure if that would help. If anyone has a solution, please let me know.
How recently did you purchase the device? The USB PCIe card operates under the idea that the USB controller hardware has likely changed. Does it support a PS2 port? If yes, could I locate an older keyboard and mouse for compatibility? This setup may not function properly. A PS2 could translate to USB and still face similar problems.
Using the BIOS flash tool on the motherboard lets me enter BIOS, making keyboard input unavailable. Once inside, the peripherals function properly. However, after saving changes and restarting to Windows, they stop working, suggesting a Windows-related problem.
