I’ll soon have a 1gbps fiber connection and I’m curious about the speeds you’d get if you connected the Ethernet directly from the modem to the motherboard versus using a PCI-E card. For your current setup with Cat 6a, what cable would be best? Also, since the fiber installation is still pending, they replaced all our poles in the area.

The Cat 6a and the Gigabit port on your board are perfectly acceptable.
