Hello there
I finished up my new pearl and got to the point I want to OC and there I got stucked.
My Specs are :
Case : Lian Li PC-07OS
MoBo : Asus Rampage V Edition 10
CPU : i7-5930K
CPU Cooling : Corsair H100i v2
PSU : Corsair RM1000i
RAM : Corsair Vengeance LED 32GB RAM (4x8GB) @ 3400MHz
GPU : Asus GTX275 (Yes... waiting for my GTX1080 xD )
Storage : Samsung 950 PRO m.2 SSD
I have started to OC my CPU and got 4400MHz @ 1.3V stable with BCLK @ 100. Everything tested via Aida64 and ROG Realbench.
So now I have to get my hands on my RAM modules and there is where I stuck. If I enable the XMP profile it changes my BCLK to 170 and my Multiplier to 22 = 3740MHz
I read that BCLK shouldn't go above 125. Is it true ? Can you help me and OC my system properly ?
Is there any danger getting such high base clocks ? Do you recommend any other settings to archive maybe 4.5GHz ?
My actual temps at full load are not reaching 73c.

There is a configuration named 'CPU strap.' It helps prevent the PCI-E bus from being overclocked when the BCLK value increases. When the strap and BCLK align, the system remains stable similar to a 100MHz BCLK. For this setup, a CPU strap around 167 seems appropriate with a BCLK of 170. The calculation shows a similar overclock level for a 101.8MHz BCLK, which is generally acceptable.

WoW ! So if I turn on XMP, set BCLK to 170, adjust the multiplier to 26 (which is 4.420MHZ), everything should work? Do you think I need to tweak the vcore again or keep it at 1.3? Edit : 170*167/100 = 101.8... That was confusing :S

It should work just fine.
Apologies if I wasn't able to clarify the math more clearly.

I also observed that increasing the base clock resulted in significantly elevated temperatures, around 5-6°C.

Consider increasing the system agent voltage to 1.2. The 3400MHz RAM will be challenging for the Haswell-E memory controller without adjustments—please note I should have mentioned this sooner. You may need to adjust to 3000 or 3200, or use more relaxed timings, but try my recommended settings first.

Just to confirm, increasing the system agent while I have my settings at 170x22 or 100x45?
Thanks for your assistance!
