Hi Stefan, your PSU model supports the newer 8+4 pin CPU connector. You can still use it even though it’s upgraded from an 8-pin to an 8+4 configuration. Just make sure the power supply has enough capacity for your i5-12600K and any overclocking you plan. If you’re satisfied with the price of around 200€, it’s worth it—just confirm your motherboard and CPU compatibility before connecting. Let me know if you need more details!

It's okay if the 8-pin connection works for that CPU.

Sure thing! The main concern is power consumption, not just wattage. Switching to an i9 would likely increase power usage.

I’d likely connect it to a 12900K/KS setup since it can generate significant power based on your tasks. Running a stress test with an overclocked i9 might push a single 8-pin connector to its limit.

I linked everything using just the 8-pin connector, and everything functioned properly. If I switch to a quicker CPU later on, this PSU can precisely monitor each watt requirement, helping me verify compatibility ahead of time. Thanks!

The additional power connector serves only for very high overclocking, which is confusing for many people. It’s not really useful for everyday use or low-end builds.
