ASUS Prime X570-PRO paired with AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor
Hello Im building a desktop and I wanna make sure this cpu: https://www.pcdiga.com/componentes/proce...0000063wof works on these motherboard: https://www.pcdiga.com/componentes/mothe...1b0-m0eay0 before I order all the parts. pretty simple Ive done some research and it some people say it isnt and some say its bios update with a old amd cpu? so It left me confused, thats why Im here. thx in advance
Yes, they can work together. Before installing the 5800x, you'll need to upgrade to a 3000 series chip to refresh the BIOS. If you're close to a microcenter, they should charge about $25 for this service. The update is necessary because the 5000 series chips are newer, while the motherboard still runs an older BIOS version before the new chips arrived. In some situations, you might find a board with the updated BIOS, but it's safer to ensure everything is current.
I'm from Portugal, and I understand. You can request the reseller to update it here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100
You might want to contact the reseller again, though they’re likely to give a confusing reply like "we can sell you the old chip so you can BIOS update." It’s up to you whether you do. You could also try your chance and see if you find something with the update, or look for help from others. Where are you purchasing the board or CPU from?
all components come from the same reseller – CPU, GPU, RAM, SSD, case, power supply, and everything else. They’re charging 30€ for the complete setup.
The key details include a Ryzen 7 5800X with an RTX 3060, 16GB RAM, and additional kits planned for future upgrades.
It looks like a solid offer for the build. I’d reach out to them to confirm whether the chip will function properly. It makes sense that most big resellers would update their BIOS in such cases. For instance, brands like NZXT BLD, iBuyPower, and Cyberpower typically do this. (It wouldn’t make sense otherwise.) Just check with them about compatibility with the 5800x right away when you get it.
Also, is 750W sufficient for this setup with an AIO cooler, three case fans, and the included lights? You could definitely reduce the power by cutting the RGB wiring and saving 5 to 10W.
