Asus prime B520-Plus has a maximum multiplier of 42.
Hi Guys
Hope you can assist me. I have a PC built with an Asus Prime B250-Plus ATX motherboard, equipped with an I5-7600K processor and a 240mm AIO cooler. Based on the chipset and cooling solution, overclocking isn't recommended. However, when I try to configure the BIOS, it prompts me to sync all cores and limits the multiplier to a maximum of X42, preventing any higher settings.
I understand these components are suitable for a minimum water temperature of 4.6°C, and that the B-series motherboard isn't ideal for overclocking. Still, I'm puzzled as to why I can't adjust the multiplier further. Is this issue related to the motherboard being a B-series rather than a Z-series?
Could you please share some additional details or specifications?
Thanks in advance!
The Z series boards are the sole option for overclocking, while the B250 is configured with a fixed boost CPU speed.
