I switched to the 3700X in January and connected it with the ASUS Prime B350 Plus board I received with my Ryzen 5 1600 from 2017. I intend to keep using this pairing for several years—possibly 5 to 10—and plan a full platform upgrade when needed. I won’t overclock, so should pairing be enough for the long run? Or would it make more sense to buy a B450 instead?

A ten-year-old CPU might not seem impressive, but I’m hoping it fits well with the motherboard at its original setting.
