ASUS PCE-AC56 AC1300 model
I received an ASUS PCE-AC56 AC1300 network card for my PC, but it only connects to a 2.4GHz network, which is much slower than the 5GHz option. My MBP and S8+ devices can access the 5GHz network. Have anyone experienced this issue before? It's frustrating when trying to stream or play games over Wi-Fi from your phone, as it struggles to maintain a stable connection below 150 ping. The utility drivers you downloaded haven't helped, and now the connection keeps dropping between the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, cutting off internet access altogether. Any suggestions?
Restart the installation. Check for available updates or download offline versions.
During the process, it suggests installing automatically when you connect the device. However, no drivers are available online.
Access the advanced driver settings of the card to define your preferred connection type. By default, cards usually use 2.4 unless instructed otherwise. If you're running Windows 10, navigate to the Control Panel, select All Control Panel Items, then Network Connections. Right-click your WiFi interface (AC56), choose Properties, and click Configure. Once there, go to the Advanced Tab and set the Preferred Band to 5Ghz. Click Save; the adapter will automatically reconnect on the 5Ghz channel(s). You can explore additional settings for better performance, but start with this option first.
I don’t see the Wireless Mode option, mainly due to Norwegian preferences, and there’s nothing I can adjust to 5GHz either.
I attempted to switch the mode from nice to just a, but now I can connect to the router yet still have no internet. I tried resetting and rebooting multiple times, and it’s really not working.
