Hello, I set up the xenon X5675 today and am experiencing some RAM problems. If anyone has advice, I’d really value it. I swapped my i7-920 for the xeon x5675, and the system starts fine but in BIOS and Windows only shows 8GB of RAM available. In Task Manager, usable RAM is listed as 8GB, while committed RAM appears at 16GB—whatever that means. My setup looks like: MB: P6T SE RAM: 4x 4GB CPU: xenon x5675 CPU-Z reports RAM correctly. The manual says I should use a 4DIMM configuration, and I noticed only the B1 and C1 RAM slots are lighting up.

I found a fix just a few minutes after writing this. I took out the RAM from slots B1 and C1, but the system wouldn’t boot with the remaining sticks on A2 and A1. The issue was resolved by putting all four sticks in B2, B1, C2, and C1. I’m aware this isn’t following the manual, but I think the xenon processor has a different layout or pin configuration that doesn’t use A2 and A1 properly.

CPU-Z displayed triple channel and 16GB RAM, but Windows and the BIOS disagreed. I resolved the issue using the method I described in my earlier post.

Your interpretation seems accurate. With 6 slots and only 4 used, the CPU should recognize a triple channel configuration. The discrepancy likely comes from how Windows or BIOS interprets the memory setup.

Also no response to your query, sorry. Just verified it's dual channel now. Not sure how to adjust for that change.

I see, now that I realize the dual channel setup makes sense, I understand your point. It seems unlikely I could switch back to triple channel with this specific processor and motherboard.
