ASUS N17U offers robust Wi-Fi connectivity.
I use an ASUS N17U for my wireless router. I noticed my girlfriend's laptop connects at 72mbps but supports B/G/N/Ac protocols. After researching, I adjusted the router's channel to 40MHz on the ASUS side and the laptop connected at 150Mbps. However, I read that lower frequencies can be affected by other signals, so I wasn't sure if that was a good change. Then I tested my P8 Lite (B/G/N) which dropped to about 30-32Mbps. She tried it with her iPhone X and got only 18Mbps. I also experimented with the router switching between auto and enforced N, mixing 20/40MHz. On the P8 Lite I got 40-45Mbps, but on the iPhone it was still 18Mbps. The ASUS log showed 52Mbps for the laptop and 144Mbps for her phone and TV (which also supports N and AC), but I didn't check the laptop's settings because it was late. Why does the iPhone get slower than the laptop, and why do laptop adapters need 40MHz to reach 15Mbps?
