Hello, I need a motherboard for my i9 9900k. I’m considering ASUS MAXIMUS XI HERO WIFI or Asus ROG Strix E-gaming. I should compare the two before deciding. Also, can you clarify the differences between them? If you know, please let me know. Also, is it worth paying a bit more for these options? Thanks!
Tier S Extreme overclocking options include i7oc and i9oc models from Asus such as Maximus XI Extreme, Maximus X Extreme, Rampage VI Apex, Rampage VI, Maximus XI Gene, Maximus X Apex, Maximus XI Apex Tier A for high-end gaming with i5oc, i7oc, and i9oc. Asus does not offer Tier B Mainstream gaming options like zxxx-Strix, x299-strix, or X299 variants. Prices for these higher tiers are expected to be substantial.
I work with Hero X and Hero IX boards but won’t find a Hero XI option for an i9 9900k. If you must choose ASUS, only the Hero series fits well with an overclocked i9 9900k.
They're quite disappointing compared to what you paid. Just grab the most affordable Aorus Z390 and stop there.
Tier S is a bit over the budget... I'm searching for something under 300€, maybe just a few euros more. My current setup uses an ASRock Z390 Taichi and it performed well with an i7 9700K, but I'm not sure it's suitable for an i9 9900K.
X and IX offer advantages over XI mainly due to their lower cost, while other factors remain consistent.
