This laptop features a 5700u processor and built-in graphics. The cooling system seems inadequate. I adjusted the fan to "performance" mode. Shutting it down at 15% power usage (working on 4 out of 16 threads) was possible. BE WARNED. I'm quite dissatisfied.

It performs well up to the 15% threshold. I might return the product. A cooling pad would be an option, but I'm unsure how much it would help and it would reduce portability.

Newegg hasn't updated my review after three days. I'm doubtful about their reliability.

The laptop powers off due to temperature thresholds, not a fixed percentage, allowing operation as long as CPU and GPU stay below maximum limits. This suggests an issue with the cooling system, possibly a malfunctioning fan, a blocked airflow path, or improper heat sink attachment.

I performed a stress test using NZXTcam, and the CPU was operating at 14-15% during the process. The temperature rose from 50 to 90°C in just 25 seconds, and the system shut down at around 93°C. I plan to share a screenshot of the results, but I’m unsure how to interpret them.

I’ve thought about possible defects. The fan is functioning, but I think a better solution would be to modify the fan speed according to CPU load to prevent overheating earlier.

The fan housing seems to have some blocked vents, which I suspect could be a manufacturing flaw. I attempted to remove the material from a few blocked vents, but because the plastic is sturdy, I concluded it was intentional. There’s no sign of thin thermal paste in any vents, and the blocked vents aren’t the main cooling points. A plastic case lacks the heat-sinking benefits of an aluminum one.

Maybe the installer omitted thermal paste?
The price of this $650 laptop has risen by $100 over the past week since I got it.
Reminder for myself: Always run a stress test before spending too much time setting up.
